Host family responsibilities

In hosting students with EF US, we request our families to provide:

• A hospitable and friendly welcome. A neat, cozy, well-illuminated room with adequate heating, ventilation, natural light, clothing storage, and a table or desk for their use.
• Clean bed linen and towels, which the host family should refresh on a weekly basis.
• Unrestricted bathroom access, just like any other family member, and a key or unrestricted access to your home at any time.
• For our younger students, guidance on navigating their way to school on the first day.

Your students are visiting the USA from abroad and expect to feel comfortable and safe in your home. Other than a bedroom, they need things like food, access to a shower, laundry and bed linen. Be mindful of their needs and how you can best live together so that everyone enjoys the experience and cultural exchange.
