CELTA is the most prestigious TEFL course in the world.

It is an initial teaching program aimed at people with little or no teaching experience, or those who have been teaching but have not received training. This course is designed to give teachers the basic tools to feel comfortable in a classroom; although it is assumed that they will continue to develop after completing the course.

The CELTA course enables candidates to:

• Acquire essential subject knowledge and become familiar with the principles of effective teaching.

• Acquire a range of practical skills for teaching English to adult learners.

• Demonstrate their ability to apply what they have learnt in a real teaching context.

Candidates who successfully complete the course can begin work in a variety of EFL/ESOL teaching contexts around the world.

The course in 2023 will be offered as part-time face-to-face in the evenings, including 100 contact hours. You will also be required to complete a minimum of 100 non-face-to-face hours which will include: the online platform, research, assignments and lesson planning.
